This vegan food festival is bringing the Bay Area community together while supporting local businesses.
This September, Erika Hazel aka “The Bizerkeley Vegan,” will host a vegan food festival in the San Francisco Bay Area. The Bizerkeley Food Festival will be held on Sunday, September 5 from 11am-5pm. The Bay Area festival will take place at the Sports Basement Berkeley outdoor parking lot and will feature more than a dozen local vendors, free food samples, live entertainment, guest speakers, shopping, and more!
“I am absolutely thrilled to be organizing the first vegan food festival in Berkeley,” Hazel told VegOut. “I believe this event will really bring the community together, both vegan and non-vegan, with an array of live performances, vendors, and activities.”
The San Francisco Bay Area Vegan Community
The festival includes both local and statewide vendors, such as Cali Dawg, Dr. Hops Real Hard Kombucha, Planet Vegan Burgers, Chef Reina, and more. Attendees that are 21 and older can also partake in complimentary wine and hard kombucha tastings. In addition, speakers will share the work their organizations do in the local Berkeley and East Bay communities.
“I not only wanted to make this festival about the vegan community, but tie in other local causes as well, so we may support one another,” Hazel added. “It’s important for us to be aware of how we can better the lives of animals in all aspects, not just when it comes to food.”
Silent Auction to Benefit Friends of Berkeley Animal Care Services
In its commitment to support local organizations, The Bizerkely Vegan Food Festival will also host a silent auction to benefit Friends of Berkeley Animal Care Services, a nonprofit organization committed to raising funds to support critical programs and services at Berkeley’s municipal animal shelter, Berkeley Animal Care Services.
The Bizerkeley Food Festival will take place at Sports Basement Berkeley located at 2727 Milvia St, Berkeley, CA 94703 in the outdoor parking lot with tickets starting at $5. Tickets can be purchased online at eventbrite.com. For more information on the festival, visit thebizerkeleyvegan.com/foodfest.
