Things To Do
New York

Drawing crowds of 20,000-30,000 each weekend, Smorgasburg is America’s “largest weekly open-air food market.” From food to art and clothing, you’ll find whatever it is you’re looking for.

Whether your weekend isn’t complete without a trip to Smorgasburg or you’re hearing about it for the first time, we’ve got the info you need to do it like a pro:

SCOPE OUT VENDORS

Follow @smorgasburg for the latest updates, food photos, and have-to-have items. Create your must-try lists, and check out individual vendor Instagram accounts beforehand.

INVITE YOUR VEG-CURIOUS FRIENDS

Want to try everything but don’t have four stomachs or all day to graze? Bring friends and family (especially non-vegans) so you can try #alltheveganthings and save some time by splitting lines! Don’t worry if you don’t make it through the whole line-up—there’s always next week.

BRING YOUR REUSABLE WATER BOTTLE

Vegan for the planet? Don’t forget to bring that reusable water bottle. Staying hydrated doesn’t have to compromise your eco-friendly vibe. Look for the free water refill stations located throughout the market.

PACK SOME TO-GO CONTAINERS

It’s a party in your backpack! Want to try all the vegan vendors but don’t have room enough room in your stomach? Why limit those goodies to just one day? Take home plenty of leftovers to host a vegan night with friends. Or, save the food prep time and impress your coworkers the next day with amazing creations from your favorite vegan vendors.

BREAK OUT THE UMBRELLA

Be prepared for any weather, because Smorgasburg happens rain or shine. Pouring rain or sweltering heat, nothing stops us from getting our vegan grub on!

SHARE WITH THE KIDDOS

Smorgasburg is an inclusive, family-friendly community event that will have you coming back for more!

LEAVE THE FUR BABIES AT HOME ON SATURDAY

You’re going to want to leave the pup chilling on the sofa if you head to Saturday’s event in East River State Park. New York State Park rules prohibit pets at that event. Service animals, however, are always welcome. Sunday’s market at Prospect Park is pet-friendly.

TAG VEGOUT NYC

Noshing on all those vegan burgers, ribs, and dumplings and downing all those beers, you’re sure to capture some #droolworthy Instagram shots.
