Four-Course Southern Vegan Pop-Up Dinner Coming to Detroit September 16-19

Chris Tucker of the Great American Baking Show will be whipping up vegan food as a guest chef at Frame Detroit.

Celebrity, LA-based chef Chris Tucker is bringing a four-course Southern vegan pop-up dinner to Detroit September 16-19. Read on to learn what’s happening at Frame—Detroit’s favorite resident kitchen and event venue.

Vegan Events in Michigan

Southern Vegan Weekend will include dinner parties each night from Thursday, September 16 through Sunday, September 19, with two seating times available. Tickets cost $65 per person and include four courses of carefully curated vegan food with a Southern flair.

Guests will enjoy a first course of baby gem salad with grilled peaches and candied pecans, followed by creamy baked pimento dip with plenty of veggies and crostini on the side. The main course will feature vegan fried chicken with collard greens, mac ‘n’ cheese, and corn casserole on the side. Deconstructed peanut butter pie and banana pudding will round out the experience.

Tickets for this vegan event in Michigan are available for parties of 1-8, with both patio and indoor socially distanced seating available. Ticket holders will have the option to add on hand-selected wine pairings from Frame’s resident sommelier, as well as plant-packed cocktails from their house mixologist.

Vegan Southern Food in Detroit

You may recognize the name of vegan chef Chris Tucker from his time on The Great American Baking Show, where he impressed the judges with sweet potato-stuffed eclairs and cream tarts! Tucker also owns Betta With Butta, a fully vegan online bakery and recipe blog.
