Juneteenth is a holiday that is celebrated annually on June 19 to commemorate the end of slavery in the United States. In solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement, events across Los Angeles will be held to honor Black voices and equality for all. Here are four vegan-friendly Juneteenth events to check out this Friday.

Attendees may order food and watch the performances in the socially distant outdoor seating area or pick up food to-go and view the event from their phones. A portion of the day’s proceeds will be donated to Our Own Life. Performances will begin at 6pm. Follow @thevtreehollywood for the live stream.
Baba’s Juneteenth Pop Up
Leimert Park
Hosted by community coffee shop Harun Coffee, vegan pop-up Baba’s Vegan Café is throwing a vegan feast. Attendees can pre-order the mobile eatery’s gumbo, curry coconut stew, biscuits, banana pudding on Instagram. Pickup will be available from 2pm-5pm on June 19.
Juneteenth Live Stream
Virtual Event
Tune in to Instagram, TikTok, or Facebook live this Friday at 4pm for One Great Vegan’s epic Juneteenth virtual community celebration. Hear from Beets by Brooke, Kindred Vegan Souls, PBG.Life, and One Great Vegan as they share vegan soul food recipes, perform live music and poetry, and discuss the history of Black Lives in America. It’s an education and a celebration you don’t want to miss.
