Another month in Los Angeles, another month of cool vegan events, pop-ups, workshops, and festivals. Here’s your January itinerary!
1. Vegan Candle Making Workshop

You might be thinking: “Vegan candle making workshop? Now that’s just plain ‘ole marketing,” but many candles are actually made using animal products! This class will show you how to craft your own candles using strictly plant-based ingredients.
2. Taste of Caribbean Vegan Menu Pop-Up

Experience vegan Jamaican food from 10AM-1PM in North Hollywood by checking out this pop-up!
3. The Yoga Expo

Yoga and vegan food go together better than salt and pepper, and The Yoga Expo in Pasadena will have an impressive collection of both for your spirit and your tastebuds.
4. Wild Food Pop-Up

Explore wild foods and discover how to put them to use in the kitchen in this intimate cooking class.
5. Plant-Based Meal Planning by Chef Melissa
Saturday, January 5
Thinking about going vegan, but not quite there yet? This event is for you. Chef Melissa will guide you through making healthier choices and answer any questions you may have.
6. Kannabis Works Vegan Fair
Saturday, January 6
Let’s start off the New Year with a massive line-up of LA’s best vegan pop-ups, including Evolution Burger, Chicana Vegana, Jade’s Vegan Sushi, and so much more! Admission is free and the event will take place in Santa Ana.
7. Plant-Based New Years Luncheon
Sunday, January 6
Vegan Spirituality and Valley Art Workshop are hosting this plant-based luncheon to ring in the New Year. It’s a public potluck encouraging animal rights, zero waste, and sustainability.
8. Flow + Flavor Rooftop Yoga at Smorgasborg x Row DTLA
Sunday, January 6 and January 13
We’re obviously big fans of Smorgasburg over here, but have you ever been on top of their parking garage, which has astonishing views of the city and an entire garden area on the top level? If that wasn’t enough, you can now enjoy Sunday morning yoga in the sunlight and subtle breeze, before indulging in donuts and breakfast burritos at Smorgasburg LA.
9. 7-Day Jumpstart to Vegan Challenge
January 7-13
January is already being deemed Veganuary to encourage awareness and support people who might want to make try out a vegan lifestyle, but don’t know how to make the jump. If you fall into that category, Might Be Vegan has you covered, as they’ll be supporting people in a 7-day vegan challenge, providing them with all the resources they could possibly want throughout the process!
10. PopUp Shop & PlayDate
Tuesday, January 8
Drop off your little ones to play while you browse local vendors, including cruelty-free skin care, books, and jewelry at this Carlsbad event.
11. Burrito Project L.A. Event
Wednesday, January 9
Start the year off right by helping those in need! Join a dedicated group of volunteers to make vegan burritos and hand them out to the homeless.
12. A Deeper Look at Food with Will Tuttle
Thursday, January 10
Join Dr. Will Tuttle, author of The World Peace Diet, for an inspiring talk on the hidden dimensions of our culture’s food systems.
13. Vegan Village: Kannabis Works
Friday, January 11
This Vegan Village pop-up held at Kannabis Works in Santa Ana is a great way to start off your weekend with family and friends and enjoy some of Southern California’s best vegan food from vendors like Love Amore Pizza, Chicana Vegana, Munchies OC, and more.

What do cruelty-free makeup and astrology have to do with one another? We’re not entirely sure, but we’re definitely curious! Head over to One Life Yoga to learn about vegan-friendly makeup products and empowering astrology.
19. Leo’s Superfood Grand Opening & Animal Sanctuary Benefit – Cancelled

From 1-3pm, try out this brand new vegan and gluten-free bakery & deli in The San Fernando Valley. Much of the proceeds will be donated to a California animal sanctuary!
20. Hot Jazz: A Vegan Nashville Hot Chicken Pop-Up
Tuesday, January 22
From 7:30-10:30pm in Northeast LA, try out some spicy, crunchy, and Southern-inspired vegan Nashville chicken made from oyster mushrooms at this pop-up!
21. Kraut Making Workshop
Sunday, January 27
Learn how to make this classic fermented condiment in an intimate workshop with Cleveland Kraut in Encinitas.
22. Veggie Fam Pop-Up
Every Tuesday (Except January 1)
Swing by Veggie Fam’s Pop-up at the Silver Lake Farmers Market for a Hot Fried Chick’n Sandwich, Seasoned Waffle Fries, or an Impossible Burger complete with a vegan fried egg and macaroni salad!
