20 Awesome Vegan Things to Do in Los Angeles This April
LA’s thriving vegan scene continues to expand and excite us going forward into April. Here’s this month’s full list of festivals, brunches, pop-ups, and more!
1. Vegan District at the Pike Outlets
Saturday, April 6
From 12-5pm, stop by this all-vegan Long Beach block party for massive burritos from Cena Vegan, irresistible cookies from Maya’s Cookies, mouthwatering mac ‘n’ cheese from Avocadamama, and other unforgettable noms from SoCal’s finest plant-based vendors.
2. Peta Food Fight: Empanada Edition
Saturday, April 6
We’re not entirely sure if there’ll be Spanish food flying across the room at this event, but we’re certainly intrigued. Swing by the PETA Empathy Center in Echo Park to try out seven of LA’s best veggie-friendly empanadas!
3. Sundays at the Gentle Barn
Sunday, April 7
Enjoy a relaxing Sunday away from the city with bundles of adorable, rescued farm animals. It’s like a dog cafe if you just think of cows like oversized Dalmations… or, are we the only ones?
4. Vegout LA Magazine Release Brunch Party
Sunday, April 7
We’re sure you’ve heard the news by now, but our very own magazine makes its public debut this month! Of course we can’t let that happen without a celebration (or mimosas for that matter), so join us in Hollywood from 12-3pm for goodie bags, an all-you-can-eat vegan buffet, and did we mention mimosas?
5. Vegan Tour of Beverly Hills
Sunday, April 7
Beverly Hills has an impressive array of vegan-friendly activities, but this uniquely curated tour gets you up-close and personal with the neighborhood’s finest offerings.
6. Vegan Fest at Rev Winery and Brewery – Cancelled
It’s no secret that Covina needs more vegan action, so REV took notice and decided to bring in some plant-positive clothes, crafts, and most importantly, food.
7. Vegan Passover Seder
If you celebrate Judaism, meet up for a four-course vegan meal, learn about the connection between Passover and veganism, and explore how to make the world a kinder place through the scope of religion.
8. Veg Speed Date at the Stalking Horse
Saturday, April 20
Quick! Talk to the person in front of you, grab a bite of that burger, take a sip of that cold beer, now switch! There’s a new person in front of you and it’s time to repeat.
Okay, that may not be exactly how speed dating goes, but it’s a little glimpse of what you can expect at this vegan focused meet-up at The Stalking Horse Brewery in Century City.
9. Taste of Caribbean Menu Pop-up
Saturday, April 27
This pop-up explores Jamaican cuisine with all of the umph and none of the meat. Experience the flavors of the tropics typically reserved for omnivores and people who live in Florida.
10. OC Vegan Fest
Sunday, April 28
A food festival that doesn’t take place on Sundays? Hallelujah! Thanks to OC Vegan Village, Orange County now has its very own recurring vegan festival, which takes place the second Saturday of every month!
11. Taco Tuesday at From the Earth
It’s like Taco Tuesday, but vegan, ya dig? If you’re nearby Santa Ana, show up to liven your weekday night!
12. Vegan Nights by OC Vegan Village
Every Thursday & Friday
Hooray for a vegan event that doesn’t take place during the day! Calling all night owls: celebrate hype-worthy food under the moonlight like we were born to do!
13. Vegan Pop-ups in Highland Park
Every Friday Night
Friday nights in Highland Park are a walk through vegan wonderland, complete with ice cream slides, horchata rivers, and quesadilla mountains. Okay, that doesn’t entirely make sense, but you get the idea—York St is a site to behold for any plant-based foodie.
14. African Vegan
Experience an evening of intimate dining, accommodating hosting, and handcrafted vegan food inspired by the cuisines of several different African countries.
15. Vegan Pop-ups at BESTIES
SoCal vendors join East Hollywood’s BESTIES, an all-vegan convenience store specializing in quick, easy, and affordable bites. Follow their Instagram page for updates on upcoming events!
16. Hinterhof’s all Vegan German Brunch
Every Saturday and Sunday
Just a couple months after opening, Hinterhof is meshing German and American cuisines into one, cohesive eye-popping brunch menu. Some standout items include their Pretzel Bread French Toast and Schnitzel and Waffles, which is kind of like Germany’s take on the South’s chicken and waffles. If you’re ready for a lavish brunch you’ll never forget, Hinterhof is your weekend destination.
17. Vegan by EL Zamorano
El Zamorano’s authentic plant-based Mexican cuisine is complemented by a variety of rotating vendors’ food, frequently including burgers, pizza, tamales, and more!
18. The Little Green Kitchen Pop-up
Feast on nachos, tostadas, tacos, and cheesecake at the Brentwood Farmers Market from 9am-2pm!

Because Smorgasburg makes an appearance on every month’s to-do list, we thought it’d be a good idea to start dropping you guys little tips on our favorite dishes from this weekly food fair.
This month’s tip: Goa Taco’s banh mi taco with tofu, mushroom paté, cilantro, cucumbers, peanuts, and a fluffy, toasted paratha shell is equal parts fresh and savory, unique and authentic, spicy and cooling, and affordable and satisfying. If you’ve never given a chance to this unassuming tent with remarkable impact, stop by next time to bask in the flavor of one of this city’s greatest tacos.

Street Fair’s Vegan Sunday is returning! While they’ve only been gone for a month, it feels more like six. We’re ecstatic to get our weekly hot spot for everything vegan back in our lives. Keep up with them on Instagram for each week’s vendor list!
