Austin’s BBQ Revolution is bringing their plant-based Texas barbecue to Los Angeles––yee-haw! This all-vegan food truck from Austin announced on Instagram that they are escaping the Texas cold and heading west to Los Angeles for the winter months! (Contrary to popular belief, it does get cold in Texas––who'da thunk?)
The idea of BBQ Revolution came about one evening when Austinite, Blake Newman, was out at a bar with one of his best friends and vegan mentors, Mandi. Newman came up with the idea to start a food truck and wrote menu items down on a napkin. The next day, he turned his napkin scribbles into a reality, bringing the menu to life. On November 15th, 2013, the food truck was born and the revolution began!
After serving vegan Texans for six years, Blake Newman made the decision to bring vegan Texas barbecue to sunny Southern California. For the winter season, BBQ Revolution will relocate to Los Angeles and pop-up around town. What’s on the menu? Soy Curls and Polly’s Pigless Pulled Pork (what a name!) can be ordered as a plate or sandwich alongside the rotating sides of Potato Salad, Coleslaw, BBQ Beans, and Mac n’ Cheese.
The BBQ Revolution begins in LA this January and will run through the winter months, with the possibility of popping up until August! Check their Instagram for the most accurate event and pop-up menu items, dates, and more details!
