Vegan Meat Brand OZO Launches New Chicken Nuggets, Meatballs, and More
New OZO products including frozen nuggets, meatballs, chicken patties, and fresh versions of the Smokehouse Burger and ground turkey are available this summer.
Colorado-based Planterra Foods is expanding its portfolio of plant-based products in the fresh and frozen categories—OZO launches new vegan proteins! Available now, consumers can add the OZO Frozen Nuggets, plant-based Chicken Patties, and Italian Style Meatballs as well as fresh Smokehouse Burgers and plant-based Ground Turkey to their plant-based rotation of delicious OZO meals.
OZO Vegan Meat Alternatives
These new OZO vegan meat alternatives offer a spin on plant-based proteins in the categories of chicken, turkey, and beef, with bold flavors for delicious meat-free possibilities stored conveniently in the refrigerator and freezer at home. All OZO products can be purchased online and found in retailers across the country through the OZO store locator.
“We’re continuing to expand the plant-based category by offering family favorites that can easily be introduced into meal routines,” said Darcey Macken, CEO of Planterra Foods. “We’re thrilled to be adding these new plant-based proteins in the fresh and frozen categories that offer more opportunities for flexitarian consumption through high-quality foods with positive protein solutions.”
OZO Plant-Based Protein
Two frozen plant-based chicken products including the nuggets (with 14g of protein) and the plant-based chicken patty (with 12g of protein), come perfectly breaded, making them extra crispy on the outside and super tender and flavorful on the inside. The frozen plant-based Italian Style Meatballs, with 12g of protein, are made with real tomatoes and onions and 30% less saturated fat than pork meatballs. The fresh plant-based ground turkey is the only plant-based ground turkey on the market today and packs 22g of protein. The fresh Smokehouse Burger offers 19g of protein with the same delicious smoky flavor OZO fans know and love.
OZO’s Eco-Conscious Products
These additions to the fresh and frozen line from OZO will bring eco-conscious products that are good for you and the planet, utilizing premium, clean, soy-free ingredients and an innovative fermentation process that makes plant-based protein easily digestible for the body, to support digestive health.

Tofu Tikkā Recipe
Tikkā is a northern Indian dish involving marinated protein or vegetables cooked in a tandoor, or clay oven. My version is made with marinated tofu baked on skewers in a conventional oven to mimic the traditional cooking vessel, which adds a char and smokiness to the dish. Using smoked paprika further pays tribute to the traditional cooking technique. This tikkā is best served hot with cooling mint chutneys and is delicious in lettuce wraps as well. For lettuce wraps, dice the tofu and vegetables into smaller pieces after cooking and fill the lettuce leaves just before serving.
