Vegas Vegan Culinary School and Eatery is hoping to open its doors in the Downtown Las Vegas Arts District this April. The school will not be accredited but will be offering more than forty recreational classes per month to those looking to expand their skills in plant-based cooking.

The classes will range from beginner to advanced and will be offered via Zoom and small, in-person classes. Several local chefs have jumped on board to teach classes, and some of the Zoom courses will be taught by out-of-state and international chefs. Sessions that will be offered include “Cooking with Trader Joe’s,” “The Vegan Sushi Challenge,” and “Quick, Healthy Snacks … That You’ll Actually Eat!”

The owners—Vegas locals Mindy Poortinga and Heather Heath—hope to make the new business a hub for the vegan community. The school will feature an onsite deli and espresso bar, and offer vegan meal prep delivery to the community via local bike couriers. Check them out at 1310 S. 3rd Street #130, Las Vegas, NV 89104 this April.
