2021 has been great to the vegan food scene, and it’s just getting better—a vegan burger-serving robot is coming to US colleges in 2022! Israeli-based food tech company SavorEat is bringing plant-based burgers to colleges across the US via its innovative robot chef.

What Is a Robot Chef?

If you’re completely clueless as to what a robot chef is and how it works, don’t worry, you’re not alone (we had to Google it too!). Think of the robot chef as a futuristic, quick-service vending machine that combines 3D printing technology, sophisticated cooking techniques, and non-GMO plant-based ingredients into a completely customizable ordering experience.

The burgers offered by SavorEat are completely vegan (no matter how you order them), and customers will have the option of customizing their burger to their exact taste preferences. Hate onions on your burger? Tap a button and leave them off. Love pickles? There’s a button for a double portion of those. Even more impressively, customers have the option of ordering their patty prepared with less fat, more protein, or even with a lighter consistency, ensuring that there really is an option for everyone at this robot-operated vending machine.

Where to Find the Plant-Forward Robot Chef

Thanks to a recent partnership with Sodexo—the 19th largest employer in the world with a massive international catering presence—SavorEat has begun the process of commercializing its plant-forward robot chef at universities across the US. We don’t know yet exactly which campuses the robot chef will debut at, but we can expect a big impact. The exposure the brand will gain from its target audience of 20-30 year-olds embracing flexitarian lifestyles is set to pave the way for the commercialization of the robot chef and SavorEat products across the country.

In the future, SavorEat intends to add kebabs, steaks, and more to the robot chef’s capabilities. For now, it’s just burgers, but the machine can make three dishes at once, so it’s sure to be a hit on busy college campuses!
