Enjoy vegan and gluten-free sips and bites as you help support the community at this new teahouse!
This month, vegan activist Haile Thomas and family, will launch Matcha Thomas, a fast-casual wellness teahouse located in Beacon, NY. The new shop will feature fully vegan drinks and treats, including superfood-inspired matcha lattes, loose-leaf teas, and gluten-free sweets. The soft opening is set for Friday, May 21 from 10am-7pm or while treat supplies last.
In addition to providing tasty drinks and sweets to the Beacon area, the intention of Matcha Thomas is to create opportunities for compassion within the community. Each month, the teahouse will highlight the creations of BIPOC business owners inside the gift shop, and a percentage of Matcha Thomas’s proceeds will go toward organizations that support tea farmers and their well-being, as well as ethical and sustainable practices. The inside of the teahouse also includes a giving wall, where customers can purchase a drink or treat for a stranger, such as the Rose Radiance Latte for women of color.
Matcha Thomas is located at 259 Main Street, Beacon, NY 12508. While the menu has yet to be released, the Thomas family plans to provide more updates on the shop’s Instagram (@matchathomas), as well as the website, MatchaThomas.com.
