Danny and Jammie Gulino, owners of Chicago House of ‘Za, are now shipping their famous Chicago-style vegan pizza to all 48 contiguous states. The Frozen ‘Za Variety Pack features two stuffed deep-dish pizzas, two thin-crust pizzas and one pan pizza and can be ordered on their website.
Chicago House of ‘Za, located in the Lakeview neighborhood of Chicago, closed their doors in June 2020 due to hardships from the shutdown.
Jammie told VegOut, “My husband and I were heartbroken to have had to close as a result of the impact of [2020]. We knew that dining in at a restaurant would never be the same and decided to focus on providing our pizzas in a different way. Since the majority of our customers were travelers, it only made sense to concentrate our efforts on shipping. As of now we offer our pizza through a variety pack. That way all of our favorites can be sampled! They each have different topping combinations as well.” The duo plans to rotate the offerings each month with a different variety pack—each pie feeds 1-2 people.
“As of now we ship throughout the USA. We anticipate the vegan community welcoming this new concept and hope to reach people who are exploring the plant-based idea too! Since our primary business is in shipping now, unfortunately we no longer have a public location for local pickups. We are excited to begin this new chapter in The Chicago House of ‘Za saga, and can’t wait to see where it will take us!”, Jammie said.
