SÜPRMARKT, an organic pop-up grocery serving Angelenos in South Central, has found a permanent home at 3526 W Slauson Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90043. The grocery store has been fighting for food justice since its inception in 2016, and has since provided more than 70,000 pounds of fresh, organic food to those living in the Los Angeles area.

Their new location will be South Central’s first ever full-service organic grocery, and will offer subsidized options for locals that are otherwise immersed in a food desert. While South LA has 1.3 million residents, there are only 60 grocery stores in the area, making access to fresh food extremely difficult.
SÜPRMARKT hopes to not only tear down barriers to healthy food access in underserved communities, but also to educate and inspire locals by providing food storage tutorials, recipe ideas, cooking workshops, and wellness events. SÜPRMARKT is still accepting donations to help them reach their goals, so visit their website at suprmarkt.la to learn more.
