Sol Sips Launches Black Supper to Feed the Black Community in NYC
Sol Sips, a Black woman-owned restaurant in Brooklyn, New York, is feeding the Black community. The restaurant announced on their Instagram page, “…we’re not selling food for the duration of the week, instead we’re remaining open and shifting focus to nourish our community. If you live in a Black body & you want/need nourishment DM us ASAP to schedule a time to pick up a bagged plant based supper…”
Black Supper will be available June 3-6 from 3pm-6pm at Sol Sips. The meal includes Stew Chick’n with Quinoa and Beans, with a side of Coleslaw, Hibiscus Lemonade, and a Nature Fig Bar. All meals are 100% vegan, gluten-free, soy-free and nut-free. A safe pickup method of grab-and-go is being implemented and those who would like to support the program can donate or inquire about volunteering opportunities.
