Santa Barbara Vegan Chef Challenge Happening This Month

Santa Barbara-area chefs have been challenged this month to sharpen their plant-based culinary skills. During the month of October, participating chefs and restaurants are competing to create innovative, mouthwatering vegan dishes to delight regular diners and Vegan Chef Challenge judges. Only new vegan dishes will be considered—the chefs must create an entirely unique menu item in order to compete. This rule encourages kitchens to step outside of their comfort zone and expand their plant-based options. This Santa Barbara-based challenge was inspired by The Vegan Chef Challenge that originated in Sacramento in 2012.
