Plant-Based Party Returns This Weekend to Benefit Support + Feed and REVERB

The oh-so-popular Plant-Based Party is back for the weekend and you’re all invited! The first run of this give-back initiative took place this past May. In efforts to keep up the momentum of giving, Gardein, Pela, and ChowNow teamed up to sponsor another round of the nationwide Plant-Based Party. This time, the event will benefit Maggie Baird’s Support + Feed and REVERB, a non-profit organization that works to unite the music community in the fight against climate change.

Here’s how to participate: From Friday, July 24 until Sunday, July 26, buy a 100% plant-based takeout/delivery meal, or cook one at home, and post it on social media using the hashtag #PlantBasedParty. For every mention of #PlantBasedParty on Instagram, Twitter, or Facebook, Gardein (plant-based meat company), Pela (eco-friendly tech accessory brand), and ChowNow (meal delivery platform) will donate $5 to Support + Feed and REVERB.

Support + Feed is a program that offers the community a simple way to financially support locally-owned vegan restaurants while simultaneously donating plant-based meals to people in need. This initiative was founded by Maggie Baird, mother of musical artists Billie Eilish and FINNEAS. The 501c3, REVERB, normally works with musicians (such as Billie Eilish, Maroon 5, and Harry Styles) to help “green” their live music tours and encourage their fans to take environmental and social action. REVERB has since focused their efforts online through campaigns like Plant-Based Party.

The Plant-Based Party organizers hope this weekend’s initiative will encourage people to eat more plant-based meals while boosting the Earth’s well-being, aiding the fight against climate change (via REVERB), and supporting restaurant workers, the homeless, senior centers, and plant-based restaurants nationwide (via Support + Feed).

"Plant-Based Party (for the Planet) is an event everyone, everywhere can attend!” says Support and Feed founder, Maggie Baird. “A celebration of, and a way to support Plant Based eating, because we know it is not only important for our health, but for the health of our planet and something we can all do to help address the climate crisis."
