Nick Cannon has partnered up with acclaimed plant-based chef, Chef Velvet, to open The VTree Hollywood inside Yamashiro. The restaurant opened Thursday, April 30 and is now open for takeout and delivery, with plans to open for dine-in once the lockdown is lifted.
This collaboration between Nick Cannon and Chef Velvet was created for the purpose of introducing Hollywood to a soulful plant-based experience with a southern twist. The menu is not just for vegans, as all fans of soul food will be able to enjoy the tasty menu of Chef Velvet, who applies soulful techniques and combinations that have stood the test of time. "We decided to open our doors early despite the COVID-19 lockdown, because I believe that you can find comfort in good soul food! No matter what you are going through in life, good food will warm your heart. And my goal is to put my soul in every dish and bring a smile into Los Angeles homes," says Chef Velvet.
The fully plant-based and organic, rotating menu will feature items such as Chic'n & Waffles, Black Eyed Peas, Cornbread, BBQ Ribs, and more. There will also be gluten-free options. Behind each dish is a southern tradition spanning from many generations.
The VTree is located at 1999 N Sycamore Ave in Hollywood and open Wednesday-Saturday from 4-8pm for takeout and delivery. Orders can be placed on their website at thevtreehollywood.com.
