Louie’s Luncheonette, which will offer a full range of meatless cold cuts, is set to open this July in Williamsburg. The all-vegan deli will serve ham, turkey, pepperoni, and BBQ chicken, with additional choices and specials to be announced.

The founders and brothers, Matt and Louie Catizone, grew up in a first-generation Italian-American household. In 2016 Louie switched to a plant-based diet for environmental reasons, and began creating vegan versions of his favorite sandwich meats. After tasting his brother’s delicious creations, Matt’s perspective on plant-based alternatives was changed, and the two decided to launch Louie’s Luncheonette as a way to share their recipes with others.

“For us, a huge inspiration is to not only offer plant-based cold cuts that can fill a void for vegans, vegetarians, flexitarians and/or environmentalists, but to also open the horizons for individuals looking to do better, but not certain where to start. And we're inspired to do this while being easily accessible for anyone interested in trying,” Matt told VegOut.

Louie’s Luncheonette will be hosting a pop-up sandwich shop at Dolly's Swing and Dive at 101 Kent Ave in Williamsburg, Brooklyn on Saturday, June 27, from 2-5pm. Upon opening in July, the deli will offer direct-to-door shipping to all 48 contiguous states.
