Allyum opened its doors in the West Seattle neighborhood on New Year’s Day with a hearty plant-based brunch—complete with to-go cocktail kits. The kitchen has expanded its hours to include an upscale dinner on Thursdays and Fridays while continuing brunch on weekends. Both menus are fairly compact and offer seven items that range from small plates and mains to desserts.

For brunch, the chef offers a selection of comfort food dishes including Chkn’ Fried Mushrooms and Waffles, biscuits and gravy, and Carrot Lox Benny. The dinner menu leans on Latin cuisine with Torta Dip, Champiñones y Papas a la Diabla, and tres leches cake for dessert. For those who want to try it all, the $45 Fire the Menu option includes every item on the dinner menu. The restaurant is mostly vegan, but there are plans to add eggs and oysters to the menu.

In the future, the owners hope to open a market pantry for diners to purchase staples to-go. A more robust cocktail, wine, and beer list is also in the works.

Allyum is located at 2940 SW Avalon Way, Seattle, WA 98126.
