Planet Health Compton (PHC) will be opening in Compton, CA. The establishment is a multipurpose center to provide support to small businesses promoting healthy ways of living and thinking with food, products, and education.

PHC includes Planet Health Compton Vegan Restaurant & Cafe, which will serve a plant-based menu of soul food and traditional Latin dishes, The Juice Trap (fresh juices, smoothies and healthy snacks), a retail shop, a wellness and beauty shop, and a community center for educational workshops. Planet Health Compton was scheduled to open its doors in spring 2020, but has been postponed to July 4th (if the local government provides clearance from restrictions due to the pandemic). The grand opening is set to be a BBQ-themed family-friendly event.

"Healthy food should be a basic human right for every community," said Roland Jackson, founder of PHC. He was inspired to dedicate his life to educating others on healthy living and eating in 2018, and decided to invest in his hometown of Compton, CA by partnering up with NBA champion John Salley. His mission is to fight the evident food desert (an area with limited access to affordable and good-quality food) in Compton and allow for the community to thrive with healthy and delicious meals, or as he states, to encourage "eating good in the hood." He has also gained support from Mayor of Compton, Aja Brown.
