Former First Lady Michelle Obama recently partnered with Beyond Meat to “transform our nation’s food supply for the better.”
Michelle Obama’s nonprofit, Partnership for a Healthier America (PHA)—an organization dedicated to combating the childhood obesity epidemic—teamed up with plant-based meat company Beyond Meat in a shared commitment to use food as a means to bring change by making nutritious food options more accessible to all.
The new partnership kicked off on Tuesday, April 28, at the 10th annual PHA summit, which was held online. The virtual event brought some of the leading faces in the food and nutrition space, including opening remarks from Michelle Obama, a keynote address from Beyond Meat CEO Ethan Brown, along with a “laptop-side” chat, talking about all things plant-based with NBA player Chris Paul, who is one of Beyond Meat’s investors and brand ambassadors, and more.
