Maya’s Cookies has accelerated from near closure during the spring of 2020 to its own brick-and-mortar in the fall of that same year. The online-only business initially struggled when the pandemic first hit, but the surge of support following the Black Lives Matter push in June and subsequent months gave owner Maya Madsen enough of a boost to set up her own boutique shop in San Diego. Her flavors range from classic chocolate chip to marshmallow and pretzel-studded everything cookies.

Customers can purchase the Oatly soft serve on its own, with toppings, or with a cookie. Those who do not live within driving distance of the storefront can order cookies for nationwide delivery (sorry, no shipping soft serve yet).

Maya’s Cookies is located at 4760 Mission Gorge Pl, San Diego, CA 92120 and open Wednesday-Sunday from 10am-3pm.
