Brooklyn Nets player Kyrie Irving just donated 200,000 vegan Beyond Burgers to Food Bank For New York City, the major hunger relief nonprofit organization working to end hunger in the city’s five boroughs.

This donation goes hand-in-hand with Irving’s switch to a vegan diet, which happened after watching the documentary What The Health.

Irving also donated $323K to Feeding America and is partnering with City Harvest NYC to distribute 250,000 meals across the New York City area.

“Seeing the effects of COVID-19 reach our loved ones, our schools, our jobs, and access to food has really impacted me,” Irving said in a recent Instagram post. He added that people can join him in helping by donating to the response fund he’s launched with Feeding America and food storage company Lineage Logistics, called the Share A Meal campaign.
