Fast food chain KFC is planning to test their vegan fried chicken made in collaboration with Beyond Meat in Charlotte and Nashville.
After huge success in their pilot test in Atlanta last year, where the vegan Beyond Fried Chicken sold out within five hours, they are expanding the test to locations in the Charlotte and Nashville areas from February 3-23 while supplies last.
While the initial Atlanta test was done to survey the exclusivity of the product in one area for a short period of time, this new test will determine if the demand remains over a longer period of time. KFC said this will give them a better understanding of how the vegan fried chicken offering could play out nationally. If successful, it may lead to the case for a national rollout.
