Actors Joaquin Phoenix and Rooney Mara recently partnered with Beyond Meat on their Feed A Million+ pledge.
The two join the growing list of several partners, working with vegan meat company Beyond Meat in their goal to donate and distribute over 1 million Beyond Burgers as a part of their Feed A Million+ pledge, which launched April 6.
"We’re so grateful to partner with Beyond Meat’s Feed a Million campaign to support individuals and communities experiencing food insecurity,” Phoenix said in a Hollywood Reporter video announcing their support.
Phoenix and Mara have specifically chosen to donate to three organizations in Los Angeles fighting youth hunger and homelessness.
"For the next several weeks, the Feed a Million campaign will be donating hundreds of hot meals to some of our favorite organizations that provide emergency services to so many people," Mara said in the same announcement video. She went on to thank essential workers and volunteers.
The actors’ chosen organizations include The Midnight Mission (which works to offer a path to self-sufficiency for those experiencing homelessness), The Urban School Food Alliance (which seeks to address the unique needs of the nation's largest school districts), and My Friend’s Place (which helps in assisting and inspiring homeless youth to attain self-sufficiency).
