Italy-based vegan burger chain—Flower Burger—just opened its first North America location in Culver City. The vibrant-hued quick-service restaurant will begin as a ghost kitchen with plans to open a brick-and-mortar later this summer.
Its full menu of colorful burgers, savory sides, and chocolate confections will be available beginning May 6 for delivery only. Hours will be constricted from 11am-3pm for the first four days of opening then extended to 7pm beginning on May 10. Customers can order through the Flower Burger website or through popular delivery apps including GrubHub, DoorDash, and UberEats.
Flower Burger founder, Matteo Toto, exclaimed, “Opening in LA is a dream come true! We’re excited to bring the passion and energy of Flower Burger to the US and have plans to expand quickly. We love that LA locals prioritize all the same values that we do, from inclusivity to conscious, sustainable eating.”
True to its name, the six signature plant-based burgers are as brightly colored as a flower thanks to natural food dyes such as spirulina, turmeric, and beetroot. Each patty is made with a blend of beans, oats, lentils, and/or seitan. For example, the popular Flower Burger features a royally violet sesame seed bun colored with beetroot extract that sandwiches together a red kidney bean patty, gentilla lettuce, vegan Flower cheddar slices, soybean sprouts, tomato confit, and Majik Sauce (akin to secret sauce). Crispy potato wedges, Patatas Buenas, edamame, and chocolate salami (a log of chocolate with mixed dried fruit and nuts) are also on the menu.
Flower Burger is open now for delivery only. Follow the chain’s US location on Instagram (@flowerburger_usa) for updates on its brick-and-mortar location in West Hollywood.
