Equelecuá Cuban Vegan Café Moves from Inglewood to Pasadena
Equelecuá Cuban Vegan Café just opened a new Pasadena location, and are closing their Inglewood location.
Aimed at “bridging the gap between vegan and Cuban food cultures,” they are the first all-vegan Cuban restaurant on the planet. Their menu ranges from a la carte menu items to sandwiches and wraps, ensaladas, plates, and more. Highlights include their yuca fries, papa rellena (handmade potato ball stuffed with vegan picadillo), alitas (wings), El Cubanaso (a vegan take on the classic Cuban sandwich), and plates with vegan meat options, such as "Lechon" Asa'o (vegan pulled pork), Mojo “Chicken,” Fricasé de "Pollo" (vegan "chicken" simmered in sofrito sauce with onions, bell peppers, potatoes, peas, and carrots), Bacalao (pan-seared vegan cod "fish"), and vegan shrimp. They also serve desserts like arroz con leche and cupcakes, plus drinks like artisanal hand mixed sodas and organic fruit juices.
Equelecuá Cuban Vegan Café's new restaurant is located at 55 S Madison Ave, Pasadena, CA 91101.
