Art of Dosa, a vegan South Indian restaurant in Chicago feeds area healthcare workers. Ravi Nagubadi, the owner, donated 60 meals April 1st to St. Mary and Elizabeth Chicago ICU. The establishment has continued to donate meals and even launched a sponsorship program.

Ravi was inspired to feed healthcare workers after seeing that his own brother, Swamy Nagubadi, a Pulmonary ICU specialist is on the frontline at Stroger Hospital of Cook County. Art of Dosa added multiple hospitals to their rotation to provide dosa meals, and due to popular demand, they launched a “You Can Help” program. The program allows for anyone to donate food during the lockdown by contributing $3 per meal (a set of 10 meals being $30). During the first week of May and National Nurses Week, they contributed 710 meals to Rush, Stroger, Loretto and University of Chicago Hospitals—the most meals donated within a week. Several individuals and organizations sponsored the efforts.

Art of Dosa is up and running for takeout and delivery using Grubhub, DoorDash, Caviar and Uber Eats.
