A plant-based food drive took place on May 7th in Chicago to deliver vegan groceries, meals, and goods to over 50 women for Mother’s Day.

Local vegan vendors, restaurants, and Cruelty Free You + Me (a club that provides education for the community on a plant-based and cruelty-free lifestyle), partnered with I Grow Chicago to collect vegan groceries for the I Grow Chicago women’s group. Vick Hauptman, who organized the event, told VegOut Chicago, “For Mother’s Day, we wanted to give back and support mamas in need!” Over 50 bags full of vegan groceries were delivered to women in need living in the Englewood area to make their Mother’s Day a little more special. Contributions of vegan desserts, meals, cheese, and even soap were made by Mindful Baking, No Bones Beach Club, Ste Martaen, Libby’s Corner, Fancy Plants Cafe, Cheeze & Thank You, Amor y Sofrito, and Brawn and Beauty.
