Leading U.S. Meat Company Launches Plant-Based Burger Line

Jul 1, 2020 BY: Anja Grommons

Plant-based food company, Planterra Foods (owned by leading meat processor JBS), recently onboarded their first line of flavorful cruelty-free protein, OZO. Vegan products include Burger Patties and meatless Ground in both original and Mexican-Seasoned varieties. The Colorado-based company utilizes pea and rice protein along with fermented shiitake mushrooms, which may allow for easier digestion. This soy-free blend offers up to 22 grams of plant protein per serving and major flavor.

Although operated under meat giant, JBS, Planterra is a stand-alone operation, and OZO products can now be found in over 17 states at select grocers and military bases nationwide. Check out Albertsons and Safeway if you reside in Colorado, Nebraska, New Mexico, South Dakota, and Wyoming. Head to Kroger if you live in Alabama, Arkansas, California, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Ohio, and Tennessee. If you’re not living in these states, don’t fret, OZO products can be purchased online.

Just can’t wait to get your hands, and taste buds, on these new Planterra Foods products? You just might be in luck. OZO sampling vans were dispatched in June and are making their way to Seattle and Portland this July. The brand is also sharing the love with essential workers by making special deliveries to fire stations and hospitals. Overall, Planterra Foods will be dishing out over one million free samples of OZO products within the next year, so keep your eyes out for additional stops. We’re talking to you San Francisco, Atlanta, and Nashville.
