25 Awesome Vegan Things to Do in L.A. This March

25 Awesome Vegan Things to Do in L.A. This March

Mar 1, 2020 BY: Tanya Flink

From Pi Day to St. Patrick’s Day, we’re indulging in all the foodie holidays this March.

Watch the Olympic Trials in the Marathon

February 29

We know of at least one vegan who is running in the prestigious Olympic trials for the marathon event. Mary Schneider holds a personal best of 2 hours and 42 minutes—watch live on NBC beginning at 9am PST to cheer her on.

Feed the Hungry on National Muffin Day

March 1

This is not just another frivolous food holiday (though we’ll admit we love those, too). National Muffin Day is a movement to give back to those less fortunate. It started when a San Francisco man started baking muffins for the homeless community in his area, and it has exploded into a nationwide charitable effort. Bake up your favorite batch of crumbly, streusel-topped treats and offer them to someone in need.

Power Tone Yoga & Plant-Based Brunch

March 1

Come dressed in your athleisure best to sweat, sip, and snack. The event will kick off with 50-minute toning yoga session followed by a sound healing ceremony and vegan brunch courtesy of Cafe Gratitude. Tickets are available on Eventbrite.

Dear Mama Pop-Up at Border X Brewing

March 2

Keep an eye on this Bell brewery—it’s becoming the new hotspot for vegan pop-ups. Dear Mama will be on-site from 6-10pm debuting a special menu along with its standard nachos, tacos, mulitas, and more. Grab a bite, a brew, and stay awhile to enjoy the live music scene and chill vibes.

Veg Singles Vegan Mixer

March 4

Valentine’s Day may have come and gone, but there are still plenty of vegan singles to snatch up. Matchmaker Vegan Cupid is hosting an even to pair up current clients and perhaps take on a few more. This isn’t your average speed date—it’s an opportunity to find “the one.” Email matchmaking@findveglove.com to reserve your spot at this intimate exclusive gathering. Sparks are guaranteed to fly!

Vegan Food Tour With Luxe Ride

March 7

Kick back as this luxury shuttle service transports you from vegan hotspot to vegan hotspot for a ridiculously delicious curational food experience. Enjoy tapas-style dining and dessert at three vegan eateries—from Pura Vita to Laudree—and end the evening with a goody bag bursting with swag. It’s the perfect date night/birthdaypresent/just-because gift! Tickets are available on Eventbrite.

Temecula Vegan Fest

March 14

Head down to wine country for this open-air vegan celebration of food, music, and libations. Entry is complimentary, but the VIP ticket is well worth the investment. $30 will get you a tasting glass for wine, cider, and kombucha along with gourmet snacks from Follow Your Heart, Maxine’s Heavenly Cookies. Wine, cheese, and cookies—take our money!

Vegan Donut Tour With Luxe Ride

March 14

Hop inside a sleek Mercedes sprinter van for this sweet daytime outing. The tour includes two stops; a wide selection of glazed, frosted, and filled vegan donuts paired with LA’s best coffee; and a swag bag. Tickets are available on Eventbrite.

Celebrate Pi Day

March 14

As long as you can remember 3.14, you deserve a vegan pie on Pi Day. Go sweet and order a slice from your favorite bakery (we love Erin McKenna’s, Just What I Knead, and Baked Vegan Vixen) or celebrate with a crowd and split a pizza pie from one of LA’s many phenomenal pizza joints (The Pizza Plant, Mohawk Bend, Pizzanista, Purgatory Pizza, Masa … you get the point). Happy Pi Day!

Book Launch Party with Colleen Patrick Goudreau

March 16

Take a seat at The Last Bookstore for the launch of The Joyful Vegan by Colleen Patrick Goudreau. Your ticket includes a signed copy of the book and an open discussion on staying positive as a vegan in a non-vegan world. Reserve your spot on Eventbrite.

St. Paddy’s Day at The Stalking Horse

March 17

This vegan-friendly British pub is going green for the Irish-themed holiday. Stop by from 3-9:30pm for specials all day including an exclusive vegan Reuben sandwich and vegan-friendly beer (that may or may not be dyed green).

Taco Sin Karma at Cocobella Creamery

March 19

Go ahead—order the hot salsa on those vegan carne asada tacos. Your burning mouth will be the perfect excuse to purchase a double scoop from Cocobella. This pop-up will run from 5-11pm.

Cashew Cheese & Coconut Yogurt Workshop

March 21

When your instructor is named Brie, you know you’re in for some solid vegan cheese recipes. Engage in this hands-on tutorial and walk away with a new skill in transforming cashews and coconuts into delicious fermented cheesy creations. Tickets are available on Eventbrite.

Inland Empire Vegan Festival

March 28

Take a day trip to Rancho Cucamonga for a taste of how the Inland folks do vegan. General admission is free; the VIP experience will cost you $25 and grant you one-hour early-access to the event along with a swag bag brimming with products. With dozens of unique vendors not often seen in LA, this food and music fair is worth the haul down the 10 freeway.

Vegan Street Fair - CANCELLED

March 21-22

It’s that time of year again! Join the masses at one of the world’s largest vegan food fairs. While free to the public, we highly recommend purchasing a fast-pass wristband to skip the hour-plus-long lines at vendors such as Cena Vegan, Donut Friend, and The Pizza Plant. This year, look for out-of-towners including Pomodoro E Basilico (UK), Snackriledge (Portland, OR), Knifey Spooney (ON, CA), and more.

KW Vegan Fair

March 22

This OC-based community event is slightly sporadic, so take advantage of the event whenever it rolls back into town. Held just outside of Kannibis Works in Santa Ana, the local vegan food and beverage market features some of your favorite LA vendors alongside Long Beach and OC hidden gems. Stop by from 11am-4pm to eat your fill.

Cajun Music Night at Krimsey’s

March 26

Enjoy live music while scarfing down your po’ boy and brownie-filled beignets at this monthly mixer. The High Life Cajun Band will be jammin’ from 6:30pm-9pm.

Long Beach Monday Night Market on the Promenade

Every Monday

Join this street fair/farmers’ market hybrid every Monday night starting at 5pm. Vendors range each week, but the event promises plenty of vegan eats. In between bites, enjoy the live music, family-friendly games, and local artisans.

Vegans in the LBC

Every Thursday

Check out Long Beach and OC-based vendors at this quaint community pop-up outside of Euflora CA. Regulars include Vegan by Victoria, Vegan Wingz, Chicana Vegana, and Original Herbivore.

Vegan Lot

Every Wednesday

Check out the lastest weekly vegan pop-up in Noho Wednesday nights from 5-9pm. Favorite vendors include Cena Vegan, Mama’s Tamales, Donut Friend, Avocada Mama, and more. There goes meal prep—we’re eating out again.

Vegan Playground OC - CANCELLED

Every Wednesday

Head down south every Wednesday for an all-inclusive community event. Explore the huge brewery along with the 30-plus vegan vendors situated within and around the massive space. Dance to the live music, play a game or two of cornhole, and chow down on local vegan eats from Leche plant-based milks to Sourdough Nation pizza.

Vegan Pop-Ups in Highland Park

Every Friday

Come for a cocktail at Block Party, stay for mouthwatering vegan street food vendors, and cap off the night with a midnight donut at Donut Friend. The party starts at 6pm and rages until 12am!

Cooking Class at SunCafe

Every Saturday

Learn from the pros at this morning vegan cooking class. The mouthwatering lineup for March includes Desserts, Meal Salads, Greek, and Asian cuisines.

Smorgasburg LA - CANCELLED

Every Sunday

This weekly Sunday food and craft market is back after a short winter break. Look forward to your vegan favorites such as Cena Vegan, Madame Shugah, and the new and vegan-friendly Burmese Please.

Vegan Exchange LA - CANCELLED

Every Sunday (Except March 29)

Vegan Exchange is Vegan Street Fair’s weekly vegan market. From 11am-5pm, stroll Bakman Ave in NOHO looking for your next food and Instagram story victim.
