Get your sweet tooth ready, because an all-vegan bakery is opening in Long Beach this April! The fan-favorite vegan dessert pop-up, Baked Vegan Sweets, is finally planting their roots at a brick-and-mortar location. Woohoo!

Baked Vegan Sweets is a female-owned business specializing in the most delectable plant-based desserts! Tres Leches, Macarons, Cosmic Brownies, Gluten Free Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Cake––you name it, they’ve got it! After serving the vegans of Southern California through pop-ups and food festivals, Baked Vegan Sweets is ready to regularly serve the people of Long Beach (and other people smart enough to make the trip for these mouthwatering menu items!)

23-year-old Nicolle Allen started Baked Vegan Sweets back in 2016 (which means she was only 19!) That same year, she graduated from the Art Institute of Orange County and pursued jobs in the pastry industry at the Monarch Beach Resort and Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel. She left her position at Disney in 2018 to sell her wholesale confections in Native Foods Cafe, Hug Life, The Black Bean, and Munchies Diner. From wholesale, Nicolle moved her focus to pop-up events and, now, to her storefront! Nicolle says, “When I was in culinary school we had to do several projects on where we’d open a restaurant, the type of food we’d serve, etc. Every single project I did was for a vegan bakery in Long Beach.”

What can you expect at the new spot? Amazing plant-based pastries made from scratch by Nicolle! If you’ve visited her pop-up events, you may have been one of the many customers to ask “Do you have cakes available for pick-up?” The answer to that question is finally “yes!” The Baked Vegan Sweets storefront will now have a full selection of desserts daily, including full-sized cakes, available for purchase!

After over a year of dealing with all that goes into opening a storefront in Long Beach, Baked Vegan Sweets is officially ready to serve the public! The grand opening is set for April 25th at 1pm at their new location (718 Orange Ave, Long Beach 90802). And although they’re opening a brick-and-mortar location, Baked Vegan Sweets will still appear at larger pop-up events like the OC Vegan Festival and Vegan Night Market. Check out their Instagram for the most recent updates!
