Where to Find Vegan Pies in Los Angeles This Pi Day
If you’re looking to pick up some whole vegan pies in honor of Pi Day on March 14, read on to discover some of the best spots to help you celebrate the day in the LA area.
Cafe Gratitude
Venice, Larchmont, and DTLA
Multiple Locations Plant-based Cafe Gratitude has two pies available on their catering menu. Their “Awakening” Key Lime Pie features avocado lime custard, whipped cream, and monk fruit sweetener in a pecan crust. It’s also sugar-free. Their “Irresistible” Chocolate Coconut Cream Pie is coconut custard and dark chocolate swirl in a date crust. Both serve 12 each.
Cobblermania
Pop-up
Vegan pop-up Cobblermania offers a variety of vegan pies, better known as cobblers. Flavors include peach, blueberry peach, apple, blackberry apple, blackberry sweet potato, strawberry mango, strawberry rhubarb, and more. They are available to pick up at the Hollywood, Culver City, and Torrance farmers markets.
Magpies Softserve
Silver Lake and Tarzana
Magpies currently offers two different vegan soft serve pies—Chocolate Cream and Fried (corn almond soft serve on graham crust, layered with vegan fudge and vegan honeycomb candy, and topped with non-dairy whipped cream and fried candied corn flakes). Each serves 8-10 people. They must be ordered at least 24 hours in advance and can only be picked up during their normal business hours.
The Pie Hole
Multiple Locations
This pie shop has one vegan pie option, which also happens to be gluten-free. Their Coconut Cream Pie is available as a slice, or you can order it as a whole pie. A minimum of 48 hours notice is required for the whole pie.
Winston Pies
Brentwood and West Hollywood
This pie shop stocks four pies available to order in vegan versions—their Harvest Apple, Blue Ridge Blueberry, Dixie Classic Cherry, Orchard Peach, and Nectarine pies. Make sure to order online or call them at least 24 hours in advance to get your pie in time.
