Remember those chewy, slightly sticky dehydrated fruit leathers your parents packed you for lunch? They’re not just for kids—especially when they come from Fruit Slabs. This plant-based edibles company is making fruit snacks infused with THC and CBD.
Based in California, Fruit Slabs founder and food formulator, Brian Cona, began infusing adult-themed fruit roll-ups with THC in Oakland, CA in 2015. Slabs were the first vegan and kosher-certified edible to hit the adult-use market, and the company has gained a loyal fanbase of hikers and everyday folks craving an organic, allergen-friendly, gluten-free, healthy, low-calorie snack to help mellow out. Each serving contains approximately 10mg of cannabinoids and is 10 calories or less.
Fruit Slabs promises all organic ingredients that are minimally processed, sustainably sourced, and that contain no added sugar. Flavors include OG Mango, Grape Ape, Mango Maui Wowie, and Tropical Haze. Each flavor contains four or less ingredients made from real cannabis or real fruit and comes in biodegradable packaging.
Those who aren’t ready to try THC (and are 18+) can opt for the CBD line, which launched in 2020. The fruity flavors mimic their THC line but swap the psychoactive compound for non-psychoactive CBD that is legal in most states.
In 2020, the company promoted Brandon Dorsky—former Vice President and Director of Business Affairs of counter-culture clothing brand Grassroots California and partner in popular LA food truck Yeastie Boys—to CEO, and they shortly thereafter brought their infused product to Washington and launched an apparel and accessories line called Slabs. New CMO, Maggie Wilson, was instrumental in designing and developing the Slabs line, which includes tracksuits, beach towels, and malas.
THC-infused Fruit Slabs are available to those 21 and older in California and Washington only, both online and in select stores. CBD-infused varieties are available nationwide and available to those 18 and older. To learn more about Fruit Slabs, or to make a purchase, visit FruitSlabs.com or FruitSlabsCBD.com.
